Italian Cruise from March 16 to 27, 2007

La MSC Crociere e la CICIT di Fort Lauderdale hanno dato il via alle prenotazioni della Crociera Italiana che Salvo Mule` del Centro Italiano di Cultura ed Informazione Turistica ha messo insieme in collaborazione con i leaders delle comunita` italiane del Nord America. La MSC Lirica lasciera` il porto di Fort Lauderdale il 16 Marzo, 2007 per rientrare il 27 dello stesso mese. L'obiettivo di questa iniziativa, dice Salvo Mule`, e` quello di mettere insieme il maggior numero di italiani possibile in una atmosfera di vacanza e festivita` che dara` opportunita` di scambi culturali, etnici a, perche` no, nuove amicizie! Tutto questo non ha nessun scopo di lucro, sottolinea Salvo, ma vuole essere un tentativo di creare un evento annuale come tanti organizzati negli Stati Uniti e Canada da Enti Italiani vari, come il Gala nella NIAF, o la "Dinner Dance" annuale del piccolo club italo-americano di Pompano Beach, Florida. La vera unica differenza sta proprio nel fatto che tutti gli italiani del Nord America saranno invitati a questa festa di 11 giorni, una festa, quindi, senza frontiere, dove il piccolo gruppo della Florida, cosi come quello di Los Angeles siederanno allo stesso tavolo con il gruppo di Montreal o Toronto, Canada. Saranno moltissimi gli invitati VIP che aderiscono all'iniziativa e che saranno presenti a bordo, personalita` di spicco della politica e spettacolo: i nomi non sono ancora stati noti.
Le feste a bordo saranno tante con temi vari, naturalmente inspirate dalle tradizioni regionali italiane. Avremo un Film Festival, un evento mai presentato a bordo di una crociera: Sicilian Film Festival presentato da Emanuele Viscuso. Inoltre, inspirata da una canzone di Celentano, si eleggera` a bordo della MSC Lirica, la Coppia piu` bella del Mondo. MSC Cruises & the Italian Culture Center and Tourist Information have joined together to create an Annual Cruise Event exclusively for the Italian Community of North America. One of Sophia Loren’s christened ships “Lirica” will depart the Port of Fort Lauderdale on March 16th, 2007 for an unforgettable 11 day cruise to the Deep Caribbean Islands and Panama, returning on the 27th. An event that will give the Italian-American community an opportunity for culture exchanges, ethnical connections, and why not, the great opportunity to meet and make new friends as all will have one common ground: The Italian Heritage! “We can only preserve our heritage and culture if we stand together and gather from time to time” says Salvo Mulé, host of the event, “creating connections, new friendships, meeting Italians from your own Italian Region and more. Many Italian organizations are getting the same results by organizing local Annual Gala’s or Dinner Dance’s and such. This is the first time we will have an event that unites all of the Organizations, Clubs, Public Offices and COM.IT.ES from around the US and Canada”. The reservations are handled by five different travel assistants, all over the United States and Canada. As this is a non-for-profit initiative, MSC agreed to reduce the price to an incredible starting price of $86.00 per day per person. “I hope to see as many as 1500 Italian-Americans onboard the LIRICA” says Salvo, “where, as part of the activities onboard, we will select La coppia piu` bella del Mondo the Italian Couple of the Year, also for the first time ever onboard of a cruiseship we will have the Sicilian Film Festival presented by Emanuele Viscuso”.
